About Belmond Sanctuary Lodge
Location: Machu Picchu, Peru. The Belmond Sanctuary Lodge is the only hotel (formerly Orient-express) situated right at the entrance to the historical citadel of Machu Picchu. The Lodge’s proximity to the ruins, allows exploration of the site in the very early morning, prior to the arrival of the majority of sightseers.
Although the rooms are small (the ruins cannot be seen but some have Andes views), they are comfortable and well-appointed, and the hotel’s service is impeccable. There are two restaurants – one serving a daily lunch buffet to all comers, and the other with delicious à la carte fare and reserved for the exclusive use of hotel guests.

The Deluxe Rooms offer comfort with a king side bed, and stunning views of the landscapes outside. The room is 15 square metres with a marble bathroom, LCD satellite TV and DVD player, minibar and wifi.
Deluxe Terrace rooms are 15 square metres with king or twin beds and mountain views. Step outside to the personal terrace complete with chairs and a table and sun lounges. The rooms have marble bathrooms, LCD satellite TV and DVD player, minibar and wifi.
The One Bedroom Suite is 35 square metres and the spacious bedroom leads into an inviting separate living area and continues out into a furnished terrace with spellbinding mountain views.
