About Estancia Cristina
Location: Patagonia, Argentina.
Estancia Cristina is located deep in the mountains of Patagonia on 22 hectares and is only accessible by boat. Established in 1914 by Joseph Masters and Jessie Elizabeth Waring it was originally a working farm with sheep, cattle and horses, now the estancia caters for up to 40 guests in the 20 rooms located among 5 cabins with views of Norte, Pfifter and Moyano mountains and their hanging glaciers. The transfer by boat from El Calafate to Estancia Cristina includes sailing along the main front wall of the Upsala glacier. At the Estancia there are many excursions available including: hiking, fishing, 4WD excursions, horse riding and mountain bike riding.
If you do not have the time to stay overnight at the Estancia Crisina, a one day package is available which includes pick up from your hotel in El Calafate, a boat ride to Upsala Glacier, lunch at Estancia Cristina, an afternoon excursion and a visit to the museum, then return to El Calafate by boat.

Upsala glacier is one of the most important glaciers located within Los Glaciares National Park. When you visit Estancia Cristina you are taken up close to this glacier and learn the history of the region.

Rooms
There are 20 cosy rooms located in 5 stand alone cabins. Each of the rooms has a heater, hairdryer and amenities and is furnished to compliment the history of the estancia. There are no televisions in the rooms but you won’t need one with views of Norte, Pfifter and Moyano mountains and their hanging glaciers from your window.
