The Origin & Theory take luxury cruising in the Galapagos Islands to the next level. These identical vessels with sleek and stylish modern spaces have been designed for comfort, seamlessly blending tasteful design, luxury amenities and environmental sustainability. Origin & Theory are the only vessels in the Galapagos Islands to be accepted as a member of the esteemed Relais & Châteaux collection, joining a distinguished group of hoteliers, chefs and restaurateurs that have set the standard for excellence in hospitality. Once on board the Origin & Theory you will have the highest standards in the hospitality world for food & beverage, service from the crew and amenities on board and in your stateroom.
Each vessel takes up to 20 guests. The experienced 13-member Ecuadorian crew includes the captain, a concierge and two naturalist guides (one for every ten guests) which is the lowest guide to guest ratio in Galapagos. The outstanding naturalists delight in sharing their knowledge and passion of the region. Food is second to none on board as each meal is carefully prepared, with Ecuadorian and International specialties being served as a four-course menu for dinner using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The open-bar policy means that the intimate indoor bar is always open for cocktails, red, white and sparkling wine, beer, sodas, juices and coffee and tea.
There are plenty of places on board to relax on board and enjoy the beauty of the Galapagos including a spacious sundeck equipped with day beds, chaises lounges, two hammocks, an outdoor shower and a wet bar. Unwind in the cosy lounge area adjacent to the bar after your days spent leisurely exploring one of the most bio-diverse places on the planet.
Departures for each vessel are every Sunday for comprehensive 7 night itineraries. Passengers will be assigned to either Origin or Theory by the operator on the day of departure.
MV Origin and MV Theory Suites
The deluxe staterooms on board the MV Origin and MV Theory are equipped with all of the amenities expected from an esteemed Relais & Châteaux member. Luxurious bed linens, memory-foam and soft pillows, climate controls and black out curtains will ensure a good night’s rest for all on board. In the stateroom you will find a vanity nook with a comfortable stool and lightened mirror, a night stand, sectional closet with drawers, safety deposit box, flat screen TV with pre-loaded movies, universal docking station and clock along with an espresso and tea kettle set up.
Modern bathrooms feature a rainfall shower, dual-flush toilet, sink, plush towels, bathrobes, slippers, a hair dryer, biodegradable hand soap and body wash along with shampoo and conditioners in dispensers.
