Enjoy the comfort of the MV Clipper Premium during your Amazon Cruise. The MV Clipper Premium has 16 spacious cabins, twin share or queen with private bathrooms and hot shower. Each room has air conditioning and a safe. Enjoy nutritious meals in the restaurant and a recreational area for outdoor sightseeing that is shaded and has plenty of seating and a Jacuzzi. There is a large air conditioned room for briefings and lectures as well as a sundeck with 360°views.
You will be met by a representative in the lobby of Tropical Hotel, Manaus at 2pm who will then escort you to the river boat the MV Premium. Head upstream along the Rio Negro with a fresh fruit juice while you have a safety briefing and meet your crew and guides. Enjoy a presentation about Amazon conservation and ecology. After dinner explore some of the creeks in canoes and listen to the sounds of the forest at night. You may be able to spot birds, frogs, snakes and caiman.
Arise early to explore along the waters edge in canoes. Here you will find fruit and birds feasting such as parrots and toucans. After breakfast embark on a jungle walk where your guide will point out edible fruit, fragrant leaves, various wood and animals. In the middle of the day you may like to go for a swim. After lunch the boat will navigate through the Anavilhanas National Park, one of the worlds largest fresh water archipelagos. In the late afternoon head out in the canoes to explore the nature park looking for any wildlife activity.
Awake early to spend some time fishing for piranha. After breakfast visit a community where you will be shown typical Amazonian fruit such as Cupuacu and Tapereba. Learn about the preparation of food in this village as well as health care and education. Following lunch visit a white sandy beach on the shore of the river where you can explore by canoe, searching for wildlife. In the evening dinner will be served as the ship heads towards the Amazon River.
In the morning explore the Lago Janauary Ecological Park. Here you will be able to find a variety of wildlife and perhaps see the Victoria Regia – giant water lilies. During breakfast the ship will navigate to the ‘Meeting of the Waters’ – the confluence of the worlds two largest rivers – the Amazon and the Negro. It is now time to head back to Manaus where you will disembark and be transferred to the Tropical Hotel at approx 11.30am. Say farewell to the guides and crew.
