Location: Near Pucon, Northern Patagonia, Chile.

Vira Vira oozes elegance and sophistication whilst fitting perfectly amongst the properties beautiful surroundings. With the Liucura River streaming past, the hotel occupies 22 hectares in the heart of Cordillera of the Andes. The hotels teak exterior and interior is complemented with beautiful furniture- at times restored antiques, high beamed rooms, open fireplaces and extreme attention to detail.

This luxury lodge provides a spacious Suite, decadent Villa and for those larger groups a 5-bedroom Hacienda for their guests. The communal areas boast a hotel library, lobby, pool and terrace all serviced by highly attentive staff members. The onsite restaurant takes the saying ‘farm to fork’ very literally- there are two plots of land that make up Vira Vira. One houses the hotel and the other is home to crops, beehives and a dairy where the staff members make 10 different types of cheese, yogurt and butter. When using their own produce isn’t possible all ingredients are sourced locally and seasonally.

Unique Experiences

Surrounded by beauty, Vira Vira offers unique personal experiences for all of their guests. Activities include hiking, helicopter flights, a tour of the properties cheese factory, mountain biking, horseback riding, catch-and-release fishing and stand-up paddle boarding. Winter activities include skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, dog sledding and snowmobiling. The activities don’t just stop at these- there are many more to be enjoyed.

Sustainability

Vira Vira is incredibly passionate about their sustainability initiatives and undergo an annual audit to determine their environmental impact. Among some of their initiatives- 100% of the lodge’s central heating is generated by certified wood pellets, a Water Bottling Plant was installed to eliminate the use of plastic water bottles at the lodge, 25 solar panel plates are installed, grey water is treated by ecological treatment plants on site and the lodge parts are lined with recycled and certified wood and natural waxes.

Farm to Table

Vira Vira boasts two large plots of land, one which hosts the property and the other which is filled with crops, beehives and the cheese factory. Wheat is harvested to make their own wheat to make fresh bread, beehives are on the property to make fresh honey and a dairy on site helps them to make 10 types of cheeses, yogurt and butter. All ingredients where possible are produced on the property and where not, everything is sourced seasonally and locally.

Experienced Chef

Vira Vira is serviced by the French-trained executive chef, Damian Fernandez. Finding his inspiration in the different seasons his cuisine is always pure and authentic. Damian creates mouth-watering 3-course lunches and 4-course dinners that feature the delicious flavours of Southern Chile.

Beautiful Surroundings

Nestled amongst 22 hectares, Vira Vira is immersed in a beautiful park surrounded by natural lagoons, the flowing Liucura River, Villarrica Volcano and immaculate sparkling lakes. Evergreen rainforests and large Araucaria (monkey puzzle) trees, some over 1,000 years old are all begging to be explored.
