The team of guides at Explora El Calafate have an unyielding passion and knowledge for the Patagonian wilderness surrounding the lodge. All the guides are bilingual and speak excellent English and are experts in the region’s glaciers, steppe, lakes, and estancias.

At Explora El Calafate, a calm, open-fire kitchen reveals Patagonian flavours as another kind of journey. Rooted in Argentine cooking and the tastes of southern Patagonia, dining here brings regional tradition forward. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and trail meals are prepared for you, and beverages are available throughout the day. Vegetarian, vegan, and other preferences are welcomed and catered for.

The Standard Rooms at Explora El Calafate each measure 28 square metres and feature incredible views of the surrounding pampa and mountains. The bed can be configured as a king or two twins, and the rooms feature a comfortable desk in addition to a bathroom with shower and bath.

The Suites at Explora El Calafate each measure 42 square metres and offer incredible views of the surrounding pampa and mountains. The bed can be configured as a king or two twins, and the rooms feature a sitting area, a comfortable desk, and a bathroom with shower and bath.
Excursions
The excursions available at Explora El Calafate are designed and operated exclusively by Explora. There is a wide variety of options to match with your interests and skills, each conducted in a small group of no more than eight guests. Each evening, you will meet with an Explora guide to tailor the next day’s explorations to your preferences. The full range of explorations will be available closer to the lodge’s opening in late 2026.
