The renowned Explora Torres del Paine (formerly Hotel Salto Chico) is situated inside Torres del Paine National Park on the shores of Lake Pehoe, offering stunning views of the Cordillera del Paine. Its contemporary interiors are warm and light with curved stairways, white walls and extensive use of pale local lenga wood. The main ground level houses the reception, lounge, bar and restaurant, leading off to the Guestrooms, while outside a walkway takes you down to a heated indoor lap pool, massage room, sauna, and outdoor jacuzzis.
Located in the heart of Chile’s Carretera Austral, Explora Patagonia National Park has just 13 rooms. The lodge is part of a self-sustainable project, so it was built of stones from local quarries, recycled wood, and copper for the roofs. The spa is immersed in nature, offering a unique experience and connection with nature. In a barely explored sector with majestic mountains, Chile’s fastest-flowing rivers, and lakes with unique colours and clarity, the variety and number of explorations is practically unlimited.
Set within the vast Patagonian wilderness, Explora Torres del Paine Conservation Reserve offers an intimate sanctuary where wonder and tranquility meet. Located at the heart of Explora’s private Conservation Reserve, and not inside the national park, this lodge offers a distinct and exclusive way to experience Patagonia: off the map, away from the crowds, and surrounded by untamed wilderness. Designed to make travellers feel at home, the lodge features just ten rooms, thoughtfully created spaces, panoramic views of the Torres del Paine peaks rising beyond the steppe.
Located in San Pedro de Atacama in Chile, Explora Atacama is unpretentious but casually elegant. The lodge occupies 17 hectares in the ayllú (neighbourhood) of Larache, only a short walk south of the town. The large main building houses the communal areas – a huge lounge, a dining room serving gourmet regional cuisine, an open-style kitchen, a bar, and an ‘Explorer’s Room’ for briefings. Guestrooms feature understated décor with native wood and slate tile accents. Additional facilities include 4 connected outdoor pools, a Turkish bath, two saunas, and private riding stables.
Explora Rapa Nui is set high up on the south-eastern side of Easter Island (Rapa Nui). This eco-friendly lodge is constructed of dark volcanic stone, pale wood and glass, with clay slate roofs, all chosen to emulate the natural surroundings. It features high ceilings and large linked oval skylights that follow the path of the sun as it passes over the hotel. Large rooms extend north and south from the central building, each with wood panelled walls, handcrafted furnishings, and wide windows. Just a few steps away lies a small pool, open-air jacuzzis and massage room.

With views to the Electric Valley and the Marconi Glacier, Explora El Chaltén opened its doors in December 2021. Nestled in the Argentinean Patagonia, the lodge is a headquarter for trekkers and nature lovers wanting to explore this world-renowned destination. Based on the ancient estancias built by colonisers to the area, the Explora El Chaltén’s architecture perfectly matches its pristine location. Hotel facilities include 5 open-air hot tubs, two indoor saunas, a lounge, outdoor sitting area, and boutique spa.
Set to open in late 2026, Explora El Calafate is located within a true Patagonian estancia near Lake Argentino, surrounded by vast open landscapes and glimpses of the iconic Perito Moreno Glacier. This new lodge offers a unique base for discovering the region’s glaciers, steppe, and hidden valleys. With 20 thoughtfully designed rooms, the lodge blends comfort and elegance with authentic sense of place, creating a basecamp that embodies the spirit of exploration and the joy of returning home.
Located on a remote farm surrounded by mountains, Explora Sacred Valley (Valle Sagrado) offers over 20 activities for guests to discover the region. Guides introduce travellers to the area’s unique geography and Andean culture. After a day of exploring, guests can replenish with excellent local cuisine matched perfectly with wine before retiring to one of the 50 rooms overlooking the corn plantation and mountains. Explora Sacred Valley offers a beautiful pool area and sauna, and spa treatments are available in the restored seventeenth century colonial house.

To ensure you have a relaxing, immersive holiday, everything is included. Accommodation, transport, excursions, meals and beverages are all taken care of so you can fully enjoy your break.

Each Explora property is set in a truly remote and protected environment, placing you at the heart of some of South America’s most extraordinary natural regions. Each location balances remoteness with accessibility, providing seamless entry to unforgettable explorations while preserving the untouched beauty of the land.

Explora guides are passionate and professional with a deep understanding of the region. They love what they do and take pride in sharing their home with travellers from all over the world. All the guides speak excellent English.

You will enjoy excellent local cuisine made from locally sourced produce and recipes at Explora lodges. While this makes for an authentic experience, it also minimises the need to import food thus reducing the impact on the environment.

Explora prides itself on sustainability. They hold themselves to strict environmental policies to ensure the surroundings are cared for and resources are used responsibly. They also engage in many conservation initiatives.

Explora offers incredible guided excursions designed for small groups of no more than eight guests. Explore the way that is best suited to you – by foot, horse, bicycle, car, kayak, and more, on either a full or half-day adventure.
